You can drink as much water, coffee or Tea as you want (up to 1 gallon per day) providing that you do not more that 1 tablespoon of mild per day and only use low calorie sweeteners such as stevia or saccharin however, be sure to only buy brands that do not contain maltodextrin or dextrose.
If you find that you a too hungry to last until lunch, you are permitted to split your lunch meal and have a portion of it as a snack at about 10am, but remember, you are splitting your lunch meaning, if you eat a fruit, vegetable or breadstick then you must remove that particular food from your lunch meal, again, any deviation from the meal plan will result in poor performance of the diet.
- 1) Up to 100 grams of a high protein meat or seafood such as lean beef,veal, boneless skinless chicken breast, white fish, fresh lobster, shrimp or crab, Allowable white fish include Halibut, flounder, haddock, tilapia, etc, you are not allowed salmon, pink tuna, eel or any other type of oily, dried or pickled fish. Choose your cuts of beef carefully and remove any visible fat, also do not choose any well marbled beef as it will be impossible to remove all the fat, and if ground beef is your preference be sure it is extra lean (minimum 94% lean)
- 2) A vegetable is also permitted in any quantity you like as long as you do not mix, these vegetables include lettuce, radish, tomatoes, spinach, cucumber, celery, asparagus, chard, beet greens, fennel, onion, chicory or cabbage... remember, no mixing!
- 3) A bead product of either 1 melba toast or grissini bread stick, nothing more!
- 4) finally, one of the following fruits is permitted: orange, apple, 1/2 pink grapefruit or a 1/2 cup of fresh strawberries
Follow the same guidelines that you are permitted for lunch, but do not eat the exact same foods, that way your body won't get used to the diet and you won't plateau, this is similar to exercising or weight lifting, if you do the exact same exercises or lift the same weights everyday your body gets used to it and plateaus, preventing you from achieving further results.
On a side note: Some individuals have found that if they combine beef with tomatoes at dinner their weight loss seems to slow down, for this reason we don't recommend that particular combination .
If desired the juice from 1 lemon may be consumed on a daily along with a variety of herbs, spices and seasonings such as Pepper, salt, vinegar, cayenne, mustard powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, parsley, oregano, majoram, thyme, chives, bay leaf and so on
However, no oils, butter, margarine or any kind of salad dressings are to be consumed.
Coffee, tea or water may be consumed in any amount, in fact it is recommended that you drink as much as 2 - 4 liters of these liquids every day during all phases of the diet
Don't be concerned that you might retain these fluids and put on weight, in fact the body does a great job at eliminating excess fluids and will only begin to retain fluids when it is being deprived of necessary quantities of fluid
After the completion of 23 - 40 days of the HCG Diet protocol (depending on individual weight loss goals), the low caloric intake is continued for a further 3 days without the use of HCG drops or injections, which give the body a chance to rid itself of it... at this point in time you will be entering into phases 3 (P3) of the HCG Diet plan.
